Healing
Trusting God’s Power to Restore

“14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”
James 5:14–15, KJV
The idea of healing is quite different between what we read in the scriptures and what happens in our world today.
In the scriptures, no complicated surgeries are necessary and the most grievous illnesses can be healed through prayer and faith.
The lame walk, the blind see and those who can not speak are given the ability to utter words, and to glorify God.
There are many great examples, but I’ll just point to the woman with the issue of blood who simply touched Jesus’ garment and was healed from a disease no doctor could cure.
Or how about Moses’ prayer for Miriam?
“And Moses cried unto the Lord, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.”
Numbers 12:13, KJV
After this simple prayer, God instructed Moses to shut her out of the camp for seven days after which she could be received again.
It is truly a marvel how God works.
“2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;”
Psalm 103:2–3, KJV
I have seen in my life people being healed especially from internal diseases through prayer.
I have heard testimonies of even greater feats.
Prayer still works, even today.
And this is all thanks to great power of our God.
It is us who put limitations on God and what He can do.
We are asked to believe and have faith (this may require us to have patience).
So, have faith and believe in the Lord.
Blessed be His holy name.
I hope you’ve been blessed by today’s message.
I wish you a wonderful rest of your day.
(This doesn’t mean every kind of illness will be healed.
It doesn’t have to be that way.
But if it is God’s will, then you can see miraculous things happen.
All things work together for good to them that love God.)
Reflection:
What does true healing mean—physically, emotionally, and spiritually?
How can faith bring peace even while waiting for healing?
Prayer Suggestion:
“Father, You are my healer and my refuge. Whether in body, mind, or spirit, I place my brokenness in Your hands. Strengthen my faith to trust Your timing, and let Your peace fill me as I wait. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
