Holiness
Living set apart for God

“15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
1 Peter 1:15–16, KJV
We are called to be holy.
It is quite difficult to do, considering our state of being (we are but sinful humans), but it is possible to get there.
The Holy Spirit is able to get us the point where we can be considered holy.
What we do know is that our conversation should be holy.
We also know that we should be at peace with all men:
“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:”
Hebrews 12:14, KJV
We can not see our Lord without following peace and being holy.
As a result, we should aim to do these things.
Ask God to help you on this path toward holiness.
“And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.”
Leviticus 20:26, KJV
Just like the Israelites back then were called to be holy, so are we to do the same ourselves.
We are to be set apart from the world.
We are in the world, but not of the world.
Our home is not on this earth, but in heaven.
Let’s work toward being more holy in our actions, words and choices.
I hope you’ve been blessed by today’s message.
I wish you a wonderful rest of your day.
Reflection:
What does it mean to be “set apart” for God in daily life?
How can you reflect God’s holiness in your actions, words, and choices?
Prayer Suggestion:
“Holy God,
You have called me to live a holy life. Strengthen me to resist sin and choose Your ways. Help me to honour You in my thoughts, words, and deeds, so that my life points others to Your holiness.
Amen.”

Amen
