Joy
Inner gladness rooted in Christ

“Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.”
Philippians 4:4, KJV
Rejoice in the Lord, always.
Joy is among the fruit of the spirit.
The joy we see in true believers comes from the Lord.
“Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Nehemiah 8:10, KJV
This joy that is of the Lord is our strength.
It is the joy that is with us regardless of our situation.
Whether we happen to be in a time of peace or going through tribulation, this is the type of joy that can be felt regardless of our circumstances.
“These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”
John 15:11, KJV
We are promised salvation and eternal life.
Our life here is temporary, but it will be followed up by life eternal in the new heaven and the new earth.
And by the looks of it, this could be our reality sooner rather than later.
My hope is that you find exactly this kind of joy that is promised to us.
I hope you’ve been blessed by today’s message.
I wish you a wonderful rest of your day.
Reflection:
What is the difference between joy and happiness?
How can joy be present even in trials when circumstances are hard?
Prayer Suggestion:
“Lord Jesus,
Fill my heart with Your joy that cannot be shaken by circumstances. Remind me that true gladness comes from You and not from the world. Help me to rejoice in You daily and to encourage others with the joy of the Lord.
Amen.”
