Obedience
Following God’s Word in action.

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
John 14:15, KJV
Jesus loves you.
The Bible tells us so.
But do you love Jesus?
If so, you keep His commandments.
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
James 1:22, KJV
We are to be doers of the word, and not hearers only.
It is not in our nature to live a sinless life.
On top of this, our Christian walk is full of trials and temptations.
Will you be perfect?
Maybe after a while, but mistakes are to be expected; it is difficult to let go of our old bad habits.
It is difficult, but also worth it:
“28 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.”
The more you are able to become like Christ in your actions, the more God is going bless you.
Do not give up if you fail once, or twice, or three times.
God does not want you to go where you do not belong.
“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.”
Proverbs 24:16, KJV
If and when you fail, ask for forgiveness.
The more trials you pass, the closer you get to your final destination.
Make it a goal of yours to pass more trials from now on.
Our time is short.
Jesus is coming back, soon.
I hope you were blessed by today’s message.
May you have a wonderful rest of your day.
Reflection:
What does it mean to you personally when Jesus says, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15)?
What is one specific area in your life where God may be calling you to deeper obedience right now?
Prayer Suggestion
“Lord, I want to not only hear Your Word but live it out in my daily life. Give me strength to obey You in every area, even when it is difficult. Help my actions reflect my love for You. Amen.”

"Doers of the word” means active action, not just avoiding sin and being passive toward the wicked.
