Patience
Enduring with faith and self-control.

“7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.”
James 5:7–8, KJV
Patience.
What an important virtue it is.
We often do when we could have waited - and the end result would have been much, much better if we had just waited.
Here are the fruit of the Spirit:
“22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23, KJV
We are to be temperate and longsuffering.
Patience is and will continue to be an essential part of the Christian walk.
The world is moving in the wrong direction; tribulation is to be expected.
And even in (or especially in) times of trouble, our patience will be tested:
“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;”
Romans 12:12, KJV
I’ve experienced the pain of waiting.
I am the kind of person who likes to do things.
But I’ve also learned that it isn’t always God’s will for you to do something.
Sometimes it is better to just wait patiently.
Let’s not be hasty in our decisions, but keep on praying and patiently wait on the Lord.
I hope you were blessed by today’s message.
I wish you a wonderful rest of your day.
Reflection:
How does waiting with patience show trust in God’s timing?
What practical step can you take this week to grow in patience—with yourself, others, or in a situation you face?
Prayer Suggestion
“Lord, help me to wait with a calm heart and a trusting spirit. When I feel frustrated or restless, remind me that Your timing is perfect. Fill me with the patience that comes from Your Spirit, so I can honour You in how I respond. Amen.”
