Repentance
Repentance is turning away from sin and turning toward God.

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”
Acts 3:19, KJV
Repentance is a crucial part of being a Christian.
If we do not repent, and be converted, how are our sins going to be blotted out?
There are some who do not practice repentance for one reason or another, but the Bible says we are to do so.
“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
Proverbs 28:13, KJV
We are not to cover our sins but confess and forsake those sins.
After we are done with the process, then we shall have mercy.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9, KJV
When we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive us our iniquities.
He will even go through the effort to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
What a loving and wonderful God we serve.
Praise His holy name!

Reflection:
What is the difference between regret and repentance?
How does repentance bring refreshment?
Prayer Suggestion
Heavenly Father, I come before You with a humble heart. Show me where I need to repent and turn back to You. Forgive me for my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Thank You for Your mercy and the refreshing that comes from Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

There is two different things we have to do right. Actually three, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, then the rest follows: Acknowledging your sins is admitting and agreeing with God that you have done wrong, while repenting is the active, intentional change of mind and heart that involves turning away from those sins and committing to follow a new path. Acknowledgment is the first step, but repentance goes further by including the action of forsaking the sin and changing behavior. Sanctification is a process until the day we die. Amen. 🙏
Did you know repent comes from the Greek word Metanoeo which means "change the way you think"? Great writing!
