Resurrection
Hope of Eternal Life

“25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”
John 11:25–26, KJV
It is made quite clear in the Bible that to receive eternal life, we must believe in Jesus Christ.
There is no other way to be saved.
Other name will not suffice, either.
Jesus is our only option, and He is our blessed hope.
“20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”
1 Corinthians 15:20–22, KJV
We are all condemned to die in Adam.
But thankfully, we can be made alive through Christ.
He is the first fruits of those that sleep (those who are dead).
When Jesus comes for the second time, those who are alive and those who are asleep will be taken up together (though the dead shall raise first).
“3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”
1 Peter 1:3, KJV
It is a sign of what’s to come in the future.
Jesus was resurrected and taken up to heaven.
This could also happen to us.
Now, a thought like this is a lively hope indeed.
Blessed be our merciful and loving Father in heaven.
I hope you were blessed by today’s message.
May you have a wonderful rest of your day.
Reflection:
Why is the resurrection central to Christianity?
How does it give us hope beyond this life?
Prayer Suggestion
Lord Jesus, thank You for being the Resurrection and the Life. Because You rose from the dead, I have hope that death is not the end. Strengthen my faith to trust in Your promise of eternal life, and help me to live each day with the joy and hope of Your coming again. In Your holy name, Amen.
