The Cross
Christ’s Sacrifice

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5, KJV
This above verse especially from the Old Testament predicts what would happen in the future.
It is not the only such passage, but it is a significant one.
Jesus died for us.
God loves us so much that He gave His only son so that we might live.
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”
1 Corinthians 1:18, KJV
The idea of Jesus dying for you is a foreign concept the nonbeliever.
I should know… I used to be one.
But once you become a believer, it becomes a life altering reality.
It is difficult concept to fully grasp, and it may be we can not fully understand what Jesus did for us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate the great sacrifice that was made by the blameless one for us, sinners.
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
Galatians 2:20, KJV
We are crucified with Christ.
After we get baptised many wonderful events take place.
The Christian walk is full of trials, tribulations and temptations.
But it is also filled with love, joy and wonderful moments.
My life is certainly not at all the same when I was an atheist, now being a Christian.
And at least to me that proves God’s existence.
I hope you’ve been blessed by today’s message.
May you have a wonderful rest of your day.
Reflection:
What does the cross mean to you personally?
How does Christ’s sacrifice affect how we live?
Prayer Suggestion:
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus to bear my sins on the cross. I can never repay the love that was shown to me through His sacrifice. Teach me to live each day in gratitude, walking in faith and obedience. May the life I live now be a testimony of Christ living in me. In His holy name, Amen.
