Trials
Growing Through Difficulties

“2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
James 1:2–4, KJV
Trials are a part of the Christian walk.
It isn’t always easy; sometimes we fail the test.
But if we pass the test set before us, it works on our patience.
And patience is a gift of exceeding value.
“3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
Romans 5:3–5, KJV
Tribulation is also to be expected.
The heavier the storm, the bigger the reward.
Going through trials gives us experience.
Experience on the walk with Jesus.
“6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:”
1 Peter 1:6–7, KJV
We are going to go through trials on earth.
It is for our own benefit.
And these trials are to be considered more previous than gold.
“6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?”
Hebrews 12:6-7, KJV
If God chastens you, it is a good sign.
It means He loves you and wants you to do better.
Through these trials, tribulations and chastening, we are made ready for what is to come.
All praises to the most High!
I hope this message has been insightful.
May you have a blessed rest of your day.
Reflection:
Why do trials produce spiritual growth?
How can you encourage others going through hard times?
Prayer Suggestion
Lord, thank You for loving me enough to shape me through trials. Give me the strength to endure with patience, and the wisdom to see how You are working in my life through difficulties. Help me to trust that every test refines me for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
