Wisdom
Godly Decision-Making

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”
Proverbs 9:10, KJV
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
There are many who seem wise in the world, but do not seem to fear God.
But this is a clear sign of worldly wisdom without knowledge of the holy.
Now, it is not too difficult to get the right kind of wisdom.
All we have to do is ask God:
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
James 1:5, KJV
God gives wisdom to anyone who asks.
Which is why we should ask Him for it.
Why do we need wisdom?
Well, it is certainly better to be a little wiser than to be a fool.
And wisdom just so happens to be a defence:
“For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.”
Ecclesiastes 7:12, KJV
Wisdom gives life to them that have it.
This realisation comes from having holy knowledge.
Remember to include asking for wisdom into your prayers.
I hope you were blessed by this message.
Reflection:
What is the difference between knowledge and wisdom?
How do you seek God’s wisdom in decisions?
Prayer Suggestion
Lord, You are the source of all true wisdom. Teach me to fear You rightly and to seek Your guidance in every decision. Give me wisdom that leads to life, not just knowledge that fades. Help me to walk in understanding and honor You in all I do. Amen.
